Browne is more known for his writing of Religio Medici- The Religion of a Physician (1642) than for anything he wrote about medicine. A serious physician with an interest in science, he was also a prose writer. His book was the first to plea for religious tolerance, which set many religions against him in Europe. Ahead of his time in the clash between the scientific movement and traditional theology he was still a leader in several fields. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
