INSCRIBED by KHERDIAN on front free endpaper, " To our new friend / in Fresno / Vicky Mahoney / with warm / best wishes. / Sincerely, / David Kherdian / 27:XII:68" Also, two Christmas cards are laid into the book: First is "Kato's Poem" of which 100 copies were published in 1967 by Goligia Press and sent as Season's Greetings by David and Kato Kherdian. The card is also inscribed to Ron, Vicky and Pablo Mahoney by Kato and David Kherdian. The second card contains the poem "Christmas, 1968" by David Kherdian, 100 copies printed for Janet Saghatelian and sent by her for 1968 Season's Greetings. This card is also signed to Ron, Vicky and Pablo by David Kherdian. The cards are simply produced - black type on fine quality paper. The book is in VERY GOOD+ condition - crisp, clean and unmarked (other than inscription). Bound in olive green cloth hardcover with gilt titling front and spine. Gilt on front cover is a bit rubbed with some type faded, cover edges show light wear at spine ends and corners. Bending and hinges are firm. GOOD+ dust jacket, price intact, is clean but moderately edge worn with quarter inch chip from bottom of rear panel, short closed tear to top edge of jacket front, near spine, and a 2" ragged tear at bottom of front flap fold. Jacket is in a clear archival protector. Detailed bibliographic information from many types of sources has been gathered for each of the six poets (Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Gary Snyder, Philip Whalen, David Meltzer, Michael McClure and Brother Antoninus), Introductory essays/portraits are also provided. Introduction by William Saroyan. 5-1/2 x 9-1/2". xiii + 183 pages. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good+/Good+.
