New York: Robert Carter , 1846. Handsomely bound in quarter red leather over maroon cloth boards, gilt title and 4 raised bands at spine, small label front paste down "S.C. Toof & Co., Printers, Lithographers, Binders, Memphis". Prior owner name front end page, a 2nd prior owner name 3rd end page, that of J.O. Stedman. James Owen Stedman ( 1811-1882) was a noted Presbyterian minister in Memphis. Very Good, light rubbing to leather at tips, creases top corner front end pages, moderate foxing throughout. A quite handsome copy of this early history of the Presbyterian Church in North Carolina. . First Edition. Quarter Leather. Very Good/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
