Printed by C. Hullmandel. Published between: 1840- 1848.. Lithograph, handcolored, on sheet 14 1/4 x 21 1/4 inches. A few short edge tears, tiny chip to upper left corner, creasing to corners well outside of image area, lower edge untrimmed. There is extraordinary subtlety in the coloring of this bird: the feathers are various shades of brown. This plate appeared in two of John Gould's magnificent ornithological publications: "The Birds of Australia" and "The Birds of Europe". .
