Roughly opened; no torn pages but very jagged edges. Attratctive copy with bumped ends and corner tips. A collection dedicated to the Pioneers. Davies was a prolific Oregon writer whose promising career dissolved into something of a mystery after moving to New York in the late 1930's. She attended Berkeley for one year winning the Emily Chamberlin Cook Prize and was also the first woman to win the Bohemian Club Prize for poetry. She is best remembered for her books on and contributions to works of poetry for adults and children.
