London: Heinemann, 1954 Heinemann 1954 (first impression and printing) VG red cloth hardback with minor rubbing to edges and slight spotting to spine, fep has owners inscription covered over with white correction fluid ( twink, tippex) and booksellers stamp. The dust jacket is from a SECOND IMPRESSION issue, and has been trimmed slightly to top edge so is a few mm shorter than the boards, and the fore edge of the front fold in flap has been trimmed a little, losing the publisher's price. Shute writes of his involvement in the airship R100 among other things, closed top edges a little foxed. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7? - 9? tall.
