About This Item
Kohala, Hawaii: April 27 and 28, 1940. Softcover. Printed silk; approx. 2" x 6"; two "First Prize" blue ribbons lettered in gilt, five "Second Prize" red ribbons lettered in black, twenty-five "Honorable Mention" yellow ribbons lettered in red; a few with light fraying to tips and creases; all bright and clean; in about near fine condition. An interesting group of ephemeral survivors from what appears to has been a pre-WWII annual event in Kohala. Though research has not revealed much information, the ribbons were most probably awarded for displays of agricultural and industrial products as well as local art.
