McClelland and Stewart Limited, 1965. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 88 pages. 5-1/4 by 7-1/4 inches. Poems. First edition (first printing). A very good copy in a very good dust jacket. With a long, rambling inscription by the author to Norman Mailer on the front free endpaper, reading in part: 'I suppose I'm sending you this for the same reason that you sent a book of yours to Ernest Hemingway. There is another motive: the wild thought that you wd be unable to contain your joy whence would come shekels out of the sky for me...'.

Toronto, McClelland & Stewart, 1965, hardcover, 88pp, Signed, First Edition, First Printing, Association copy, Signed, inscribed, and dated 1966 by the Author on the front endpaper to Don Hudson, popular CBC Radio, Calgary broadcaster from 1964 through 1989 and host of Wild Rose Forum. Very Good in Very Good dustjacket. Straight, tight and clean with no markings, bottom corners and edge bumped, darkening to spine and edges. Dustjacket, edge nicked, short closed edge tears, in new Brodart sleeve. McCarthy's first collection of original poetry deals with "the horror and wonder of existence" in the smog-bound, virus-laden city. Dustjacket blurbs by Irving Layton and John Robert Columbo (The Tamarack Review).
