(c.1880's) Folio, 10 1/2" x 13 1/2". 136 pp.+2pp index, title page printed in black and red, all edge gilt, illustrated with 5 full-page steel engravings on heavy card stock, one vignette, and over 100 wood engravings. Bound in tooled full leather, covers with center panel bordered by intricate, Middle-Eastern gilt cross design; paneled spine with gilt designs and raised bands. Some foxing to endpapers, but text pages are clean and bright, old, amusing bookplate of "ne obliviscaris", beneath a wing-eared boar head, on pastedown, covers scuffed along the edges with a few chips, outer front hinge cracked, but cover remains tight. All plates present, internally very good, Very good minus.. Hard. Very Good Minus/No Jacket, As Issued. Folio.
