Plum pebbled cloth binding, marking to covers, fading to spine, horizontal crease to cloth (an original binding flaw). Private library label and engraved bookplate to front pastedown endpaper(John William Willis Bund). Very solid binding, page edges untrimmed, clean text throughout. The author's best known work, an account of the arrival of Christianity in Roman London, originally published in 1737 as 'Social Religion Exemplify'd'. Scarce in any edition.
