New York: Funk and Wagnalls, 1903. First edition. Octavo, mustard cloth decorated in red and gilt, pp. viii, 309; frontispiece by Harrison Fisher. A novel set in San Francisco. Cora Miranda Baggerly Older (1875-1968), prolific author of novels and non-fiction books, including important works about San Francisco and the California missions. Very slight wear to corners, date written in pen on title page, author's Christmas card with printed photo ca. 1966 tipped onto rear endpaper. Evidence of the removal of a label from the rear pastedown, Corner tips a little frayed, otherwise a near fine copy. No dust jacket..
