Colline Hoarau est née à la Réunion. Il est nécessaire de connaître ses origines créoles pour comprendre son attachement au multiculturalisme et son ouverture sur le monde. Très engagée dans le monde associatif, elle exerce comme formatrice et apprécie l'idée du passage de connaissances. Depuis quelques années, elle vit en Bretagne dont elle explore la culture. Elle termine une licence de Breton et langues celtiques.

Après " L'Adieu à Lila ", consacré à la Réunion des années 70, elle a écrit un émouvant roman sur la maladie de Parkinson. " Sois sage, Reine-May " apparaît comme le plus abouti de ses ouvrages où se mêlent une intrigue, un secret, et les deux pays de son cœur, La Réunion et La Bretagne.
