Fairfield, Washington: Ye Galleon Press, 1975. Limited Edition. Leather bound. Very good +. A very good plus limited edition, number 89 of 300 copies reprinted in 1975 from the 1888 edition. Brown leather boards with gilt title stamping to cover and spine. fading to gilt and sunning to cover. From the private library of Larry Southwick, collector's marginalia pencilled at edge of half-title. 48 [1] pp. Octavo, 6 3/4 x 10 1/4 inches tall. Frank Myers was born in Erin, NY on June 17, 1833. On October 15, 1862 Myers enlisted in Company E, 6th Iowa Cavalry for three years. Instead of being sent south as expected, Myers was ordered to report for service in the Dakota Territory. Myers' booklet is the story of his experiences during the Indian warfare that took place after the Sioux Uprising in Minnesota in 1862. Myers was also with Sully's expedition through the Bad Lands of Dakota to the Yellowstone and contains his accounts of Indian fights and the rescue of Fanny Kelly.

Brown cloth stamped in gilt; pictorial endpapers; [ii],48,[2]pp; bison vignettes to flyleaves. Sound and straight, gilt slightly rubbed, small stain to lower front corner, else clean and bright: Very Good or better. "The Myers booklet was first printed in Huron, South Dakota in 1888...in 1936 the South Dakota State Historical Society in Pierre had an edition printed...This 1975 Ye Galleon printing is apparently the third edition of the Frank Myers booklset" (p.[49]).
