London: Longmans, Green and Co, 1933 Re-issue of 1920 new edition. HB. Pale blue cloth, gilt titles and border lines to spine and front, no dustjacket. xii, 131pp, folio. Illustrated with 50 colour plates from watercolours by George Elgood, each with titled guard leaf. These show plants and gardens in Scotland and Ireland as well as England, the authors noting that 'English' was used in the title for brevity. Substantial text by Jekyll. Very Good. Gilt bright, light rubbing to cover edges, , small dark patch to back cover. Pages well bound and largely clean, occasional light foxing, more to endpapers.
