New York: Derby Brothers, Publishers, 1877.. 1877.. Good. - Octavo, rust brown cloth titled & illustrated in gilt and black on the front cover & the spine. The covers are rubbed and slightly soiled. 502 & [2] pages, illustrated with 23 full-page plates and 26 textual illustrations. A previous owner's book label is mounted onto the front endpaper. There are tiny tears to the front edge of the front endpaper & first 2 leaves, as well as foxing to the rear blanks, with minor dampstaining to the top edge of a very few leaves. Good. <p>First edition of these stories of California and mining.
