The author's second poetical book, preceded by "Dust and Paradise" (1936). Scarce. The "Song of Uryan" is a translation of verses from the Persian of Baba Tahir Uryan, who lived in the 11th century. "The `Poem of Destiny' which appears also in this volume is in structure and style, the author's own creation, but it is inspired by, and is expressive of the Omarian philosophy." --author's preface, p. 4. Mehdi Khan Nakosteen (1905-1982), a native of Teheran, Iran, emigrated to the U.S. in 1925 and was a longtime professor of education at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
