Blue cloth with gilt on black strip on spine, 192 pages filled with over 130 poems, Very Good Plus condition with minor edge wear, dust jacket is in Very Good condition price clipped with a few tiny closed (repaired) tears mainly at spine ends, shadow of a sticker (not a pull) on upper right front cover, with some sunning to spine area & a small soil spot on back inside flap. jacket is now in Mylar. New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1953. Undetermined. very good. 1st edition, review copy. 192pp. Octavo. Steel blue cloth covered boards. Black strip with gilt lettering to spine. Light wear to ends of spine and corners. Small stain to rear board. Subtle yellowish discolouration to boards (most noticable near edges). Slight brownish discolouration to endpapers. Generally text block is clean, bright and tight. Pages 26-31 have a light brown square discoloured spot from where a newspaper clipping was once placed in the book. Page 97 shows some slight offsetting from page 96. It appears that the ink stuck the two pages together following publishing. Page 97 appears to have retained the thin top layer of page 96 when the two were seperated. In dust jacket, price clipped. Jacket shows some light soiling with wear, small closed tears and two small chips to edges. A small amount of professional restoration has been done to the jacket.
