Ziebert & Co Illustrated by William Croome (1790-1860) et al engravings collated with illustrations (2 missing pp.195-6; pp. 193 miss numbered 198) with the following extra: 8 in introduction; 2 color flower plates at pp. 48, 96, 144, 240 and one at 192; engraving of Napoleon facing pp. 169 in song Mad Anthony Wayne (18 total). First edition. Contemporary Blue pebble cloth with gilt spine title and decoration (from 25 cm). 8vo (23.5cm). pp. 16, 1-194, 197-288. Very Good. Ink owner Gary Wait on ffep, pencil owner Francis Holbrook on pp. 80 and Frank Pierce on pp. 259. Foxing starting, stains from inserts and pressed flowers mostly in beginning. Jeanie Morrison missing pp. 195-6 or printed stanzas 3-8 with a divot to pp. 197-8 with no text loss. Acid free page laid of full poem (12 stanzas) by William Motherwell (Poetry Nook). Tail piece on pp. 263 printed as a period. Twelve editions of the songs were published between 1848 and 1990; this the first had 90 songs which were published by subscription..
