About This Item

London: MacMillan and Co, 1871. Cloth. Good. xvi, 279 pages plus addendum (1 page). 2 folding plates. Original green pebbled cloth with gold lettering on spine. Front and rear hinges cracked but still sound. Spine darkened but still readable. Corners bumped, minor wear overall to the binding. Bookplate of Sydney Ross on front pastedown. Airy was an astronomer who supplied all the major participants in the discovery of the planet Neptune with the observational data they requested.
