About This Item
(Durban: Knox Printing Co., [1954]). 182 x 121 mm; pictorial wrappers; pp. 208; plates; some advertisements. Wrappers a bit scuffed and slightly creased; earlier owner's name signed on first page; some foxing to edges and outermost leaves. 'The visit of the first New Zealand team to tour the Union was an unqualified success. Both Mr. Kerr, the Manager, and Geoff Rabone filled their Ambassadorial roles with distinction and performed an invaluable service in cementing a lasting friendship which will ever endure between our countries. The most striking feature of the Test series was, however, the confident approach of Cheetham and his men, obviously born of their success in Australia, and the high standard of sportsmanship displayed by both the teams.' The five cricketers of the year are Johnny Waite, John Reid of New Zealand, Clive van Ryneveld, Neil Adcock, and Geoff Rabone of New Zealand. .
