Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1964. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. Second printing of this edition (originally published in 1889), this edition edited with an introduction by C. Vann Woodward. Small octavo. 201pp. Fine in very good dustwrapper with a scrape from a sticker removed on the front panel. Lewis H. Blair, from a prominent Virginia family served in the Confederate Army. This controversial work, that posited that the South was dependent upon the acceptance and elevation of African-Americans.
