Phillips (1811-1883) a graduate of Harvard Law School, was an ardent abolitionist who espoused, as well, the cause of the workingman, the suffragist, the prohibitionist, the prison reformer, etc. This edition is a reprint of that first published in 1863, with an added publisher's advertisement and a biographical sketch. .

Book good+ with edgewear to spine ends and corners that tears cloth and causes mild loss to spine ends, rubbing to boards, binding tender with inner hinges cracking, text clean and unmarked but toned throughout. No DJ.
