Six volumes rebound in later Nineteenth century half calf over marbled boards, black morocco labels with gilt lettering back, plain peach end papers. The small binder's ticket of Lawrence Ridge, Grantham front paste down. Very Good Plus, light rubbing at edges. SCARCE in lovely binding. Charles James Fox (1749-1806) was a contemporary and friend of William Burke and the arch-rival of William Pitt the younger. A noted anti-slavery politician and a supporter of the American and French,Revolutions, he rose to prominence in the House of Commons due to his forceful speech and eloquence.
