The small binder's ticket of Lawrence Ridge, Grantham front paste down. Very Good Plus, light rubbing at edges. SCARCE in lovely binding. Charles James Fox (1749-1806) was a contemporary and friend of William Burke and the arch-rival of William Pitt the younger. A noted anti-slavery politician and a supporter of the American and French,Revolutions, he rose to prominence in the House of Commons due to his forceful speech and eloquence.
