Very rare and early trade catalogue/ presentation-album of the innovative motorcar manufacturer Spijker. Spijker a Dutch carriage, automobile and aircraft manufacturer, started in 1880 as a coachbuilding company by blacksmiths Jacobus and Hendrik-Jan Spijker. After their relocation from Hilversum to Amsterdam in 1898, the company was renamed from 'N.V. Rijtuigfabriek v/h Gebr. Spijker' into 'N.V. Industrieele Maatschappij Trompenburg'. In 1903, the brandname 'Spijker' was renamed into the more international 'Spyker'. It was a very innovative company indeed, eventually holding more than 100 patents. For instance, the 60 HP race car was the world's first four-wheel drive car, featuring the first application of a six-cylinder engine, as well as the first four-wheel braking system. And the 1919 C1 'Aerocoque' was one of the world's first aerodynamic designed cars. However, Spyker couldn't compete against the large, cost effective American car companies and the original company was dissolved in 1926. The brand 'Spyker Cars' was revived in 1999 and operated until 2021. - In very good condition.
