Pleasant Hill, OR: Intrepid Trips Information Service, 1978. First Printing. Softcover. Very Fine. The fourth number of a literary journal chiefly edited by Lee Marrs & co-edited-founded by the great American novelist Ken Kesey, whose legendary Merry Prankster exploits on the "Further" bus with Neal Cassady & co. formed a bridge between the Beat Generation & the psychedelic-Hippie movement. This issue, sub-titled "Straight from the gut," features the fourth installment of Kesey's serial epic story, "Seven Prayers by Grandma Whittier." Also the illustrated graphic story "Pain Porn: Visual Ramblings on the Female Psyche (Pant-Pant)" by Marrs; a series of poems entitled "Nine Etchings in Stained Glass for my Friend who would Inspire a Poet" by Grace Harwood; the story-artwork "Pure Adventure" by Marilyn Hill; the short story "The Cat, the Potted Palm, and the Naked Lady" by Mugsy Peabody, & more. A first printing with reference to "Winter '77" but copyrighted 1978. Another wacky & wonderful issue in this collectible Kesey-related series. In very fine condition with only very light rubbing & spotting to deep-red front cover margins, spine & blank back cover. Interior very fine, virtually mint except for tiniest bump-curves at upper & lower corners of first & last few page leaves.
