Blue cloth over boards with original dust jacket, which is in very good+ condition; it is slightly foxed. Some minor scuffing to head/tail of spine and corners. Some fading along the spine on paste-downs and free end papers. Prior owner's small piece of tape on front free end paper. This beautifully maintained American first is a part of Nin's collection of novels called "Cities of the Interior". This surrealistic tale of sensuality and deceit follows the young New York hedonist Sabina as she is driven to the beds of strangers whilst maintaining the broken facade of her marriage. Critics have noted how the plot mirrors the author's own struggles with monogamy, sexuality, and self in the 1950s. From the Doors to "The Simpsons", its iconic title has heavily inspired pop culture in the latter half of the 20th century,
