Garden City: Doubleday, 1978. First Edition, First Printing with the gutter code T39 on page 823. Signed and inscribed by Stephen King to David Chute. Inscribed with an terrific early inscription in the year of publication to film critic David Chute: “For David Chute, Fellow punk-rocker and power-pop fan a also film critic extraordinaire. Good to see you again, Steve King, October 28, 1978.” David Chute is an independent film critic whose work has appeared in Variety, American Film, Film Comment, IFilm, L.A. Weekly, Los Angeles Times, Village Voice, etc. Light general wear, a very good solid copy in a very good dust jacket. Excellent association copy.

The Stand is a post-apocalyptic horror/fantasy novel by American author Stephen King. It re-works the scenario in his earlier short story, Night Surf. The novel was originally published in 1978 and was later re-released in 1990 as The Stand: The Complete & Uncut Edition; King restored some text originally cut for brevity, added and revised sections, changed the setting of the story from 1985 to 1990, and updated a few pop culture references accordingly.
