The Stand by Stephen King - 1st Edition - 1978 - from Hyraxia and Biblio.com

The Stand

by Stephen King

Condition: Near Fine /Near Fine

New York: Doubleday. New York, Doubleday, 1978. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A near fine copy. In our opinion, King's Magnum Opus. A post-apocalyptic tale of good and evil. Rumoured to be returning in a (second) TV adaptation. Spine tips a touch bumped, one short, closed tear to lower spine, a couple shorter to the top. Rear flap reinforced with tape, but not too bad. Short closed tear to top of rear flap. Nothing else of note, just a little handling wear. Cover art by John Cayea [7336, Hyraxia Books]. . Near Fine. Hardback. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1978.

The Stand is a post-apocalyptic horror/fantasy novel by American author Stephen King. It re-works the scenario in his earlier short story, Night Surf. The novel was originally published in 1978 and was later re-released in 1990 as The Stand: The Complete & Uncut Edition; King restored some text originally cut for brevity, added and revised sections, changed the setting of the story from 1985 to 1990, and updated a few pop culture references accordingly.
