Honolulu, Hawaii: Hawaiian Village Hotel, 1957. Rare, collectible Stanley Stubenberg designed hotel bar menu for the Hawaiian Village Hotel in Honolulu. Acquired with other mementos from a Hawaiian trip dated 1957. Tape marks on the last page--inside and outside. Printed in the white space of the front cover is a message about a cover charge. A well-preserved item with mild wear (slight creasing). Three printed sheets folded and stapled, measuring 5.75 X 6 inches. Six recto illustrations, including the front cover, with menus on the verso. The illustrations are progressive, depicting a bartender and a patron who is devoured by a creature from a potent drink while the bartender goes about his business apparently oblivious to what is unfolding before him. The four menus include Rum & More Rum, Pu Pu ("Selection of Delicious Oriental Hors d'oeuvres"), Cocktails & Mixed Drinks, and Liqueurs. Stubenberg (1925-2001) was a commercial artist from Hawaii whose illustrations graced many restaurant and hotel items throughout Hawaii. He also did some book illustration work.. Soft Cover. Very Good. Illus. by Stanley Stubenberg.
