Illustrated with 16 black and white plates. 8vo, bound in the publisher's original boards backed in blue cloth with the original printed label on the spine. x, (1), 40 6pp. A very nice copy, near as fine, with a touch of the spotting occasional to the edges or prelims. FIRST EDITION, LATER ISSUE, WARMLY INSCRIBED AND AUTOGRAPHED BY THE WELL-LOVED BOSTON AUTHOR, who later became the the most famous resident of Gardiner, Maine, where she lived and produced her most acknowledged writing. This work provides autobiographical insight into her life in both Massachusetts and in Maine.
