(n.p.), 1941. Poster. Roughly 14.25 by 22 inches. Offset lithographed poster. Text: 'This kid is getting first aid in a hurry! The same rule applies to employees!! A cut finger, smashed toe, sore eye, banged head or a cough may not seem bad at the time, but it may put you in the hospital! Don't neglect it! See the 'doc'! You are a production soldier...America's first line of defense is here.' Hungerford was an editorial cartoonist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for fifty years (1927-1977). This is one of a series of workplace propaganda posters he did in the year leading up to the United States' entry into the Second World War. A very good example. Upper right corner repaired (paper fill); left margin slightly trimmed, mounted on linen. An attractive copy.
