About This Item

Chicago & Boston: Geo. L. Shuman & Co, 1917. Bound in leather. Gilded spines. Top edges are gilded. Printed on thick quality paper with wide margins. Illustrated with plates protected in tissue. Silver laced end papers. 8.5 inches tall. These take up approximately 19 inches of shelf space. In VERY GOOD condition. Exceptionally fresh and well preserved. The leather is supple and fresh. The hinges are 100% fully attached. The only wear is the small chip on volume one. These books all try to close when opened, just like new books will. Internally these are exceptionally fresh and well preserved. There is no writing. These appear free of foxing but for the first few pages. Complete in 12 volumes. This is a thorough library of literature. The titles are: Vol. 1- Joseph Addison to Bernard of Cluny; Vol. 2- Bernardin to Caesar; Vol. 3- Caine to Crawford; Vol. 4- Creasy to Egyptian Literature; Vol. 5- Eliot to Gladstone; Vol. 6- Goethe to Herrick; Vol. 7- Hindoo Literature to Kingsley; Vol. 8- Kipling to McMaster; Vol. 9- Mahaffy to Pliny; Vol. 10- Plutarch to Shakespeare; Vol. 11- Shakespeare cont'd to Taine and Vol. 12- Tasso to Zola. This set would make an excellent gift and/or addition to any fine library. In addition to their shelf presence, antiquarian books make an excellent investment. We always pack very securely to help ensure safe handling during transit. All books are individually wrapped and are always professionally padded. We offer a full refund guarantee, per our terms described on our site, with notification of such intent requested.
