About This Item

Special Sale Details inside!!

Stories of the Old Duck Hunters and Other Drivel, Gordon F. MacQuarrie, Stackpole "Easy-Chair" Books, Harrisburg, Pa 1967-

The Cover and text itself is in Very Good if not Fine! The Dust Jacket has definitely seen the inside of a cabin for awhile! Which truthfully is just as intended. However, the previous owner loved this edition so much, he just kept attempting to save the DJ.

We will include a complimentary Mylar cover with purchase.

This wonderful Story has been loved deeply in the past . Its Publisher, also known as "Easy-Chair" proved true for this historical edition. It has been greatly loved and read. Again, the pages are very good, there is a name inscribed in the upper right hand corner of the first inside front page Else Very good. The Dust Jacket does show wear of that love. A small piece is missing from the upper right hand area of the dust jacket (as showing in picture) and has been taped in places . All else very good.
Again, this is a book for folks who truly enjoy those evenings of rest, finally getting to sit down for possible the first time that day, and just enjoying a good book!

We will be happy to include Free overnight Shipping, along with, adding a temporary or permanent clear cover over current DJ at buyers request. We will include the Tracking number as well ! We Love Satisfied Customers!

A little about the author:
Gordon MacQuarrie was an American writer and journalist. Born in Superior, Wisconsin, he is best known for his short stories involving hunting and fishing, and for his semi-fictional organization known as The Old Duck Hunters' Association, Inc.(ODHA, Inc.).
The Old Duck Hunters stories were originally published in various outdoor related periodicals of the early 20th Century. They were posthumously gathered into book form in three anthologies entitled: Stories of the Old Duck Hunters & Other Drivel, More Stories of the Old Duck Hunters, and Last Stories of the Old Duck Hunters.

From the bootk: "Until you have courted the bluebills in the snow, you have not tasted of the purer delights of waterfowling. Fat mallards over a sunny marsh are fine. Planing, twisting teal in early-season days are sporty. There is pleasure of many sorts in the harvest of autumn over the ducking grounds; but the Old Duck Hunters are extremely partial to the bitter last days, those stormy days when the wild, free things of duck shooting are abroad in the very wind with the storm..."

About Reds Eclectic Diaries

Red's Eclectic Diaries: Antique, Vintage and Pleasantly Aged Books and BaublesWhere Every Adventure has a story, and ever story, Deserves to be remembered!(Formerly known as Ben'N'Red'sBooks) We are a privately owned and operated, burgeoning online(and soon to be local) bookseller in the great Pacific Northwest. We specialize in what we here like to refer to as pleasantly aged books.(After all, who likes being called "old" or "antique"!) Ranging from approximately 1960-prior. What does this mean for you? It means we can take our time, no rushing in our process here. We select each of our pieces with care. Researching the story behind the story, finding pieces that are unique. Never focusing solely on one genre. This allows us to provide a wide array of ages, genre's and authors.. An eclectic selection anyone could be proud to own.We are passionate about what we do and in serving our wonderful client base. If you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to contact us!---------------------------------------------------------The Story behind the Story:Two Veteran Sailors met after very long separate journeys. Both filled with trials and tribulations. Both still with the storm behind their eyes.... After talks of tall tales and dreams of calmer waters, they discovered they had something else in common, their love of books, specifically ones with the same tenacity for surviving what the world has thrown at them as they do ... As time goes on the seas become tumultuous, the winds tortuous. Storm after storm thrashed upon our two sailors, finally pulling one hand from the other... after what felt like an eternity, the sun broke through the clouds, revealing only one remain...Red chose that day to carry on the dream that they envisioned together so long ago in that run down tavern.. as long as the adventures, the stories are shared they will be remembered.. and they will live on. So continues the stories of Red's and her Eclectic Diaries.**We are continuously adding new inventory. Contact us for any inquires or wish lists! If we don't have it we will find it!**
