THE STORY OF THE BAGPIPE by WILLIAM H GRATTAN FLOOD - 1911

This is a first edition of The Story of the Bagpipe, published in 1911. It was written by William H Grattan Flood, a professor of music and musical history at the National University of Ireland, and is part of the Walter Scott Publishing Company's Music-Story Series.

It is illustrated, in black and white, with one b&w plate at the front.

On the front endpaper, there is an inscription: "William Campbell from Howard Mitchell, August 1947"

Scarlet boards with an imprinted design on the cover and spine and gold lettering on the spine. The spine has two white marks on it, which are coming off.

The spine is starting to loosen a little; it's hand-bound--the section on the MacCrimmons is on pages of a different size, as is Chapter XXIII.Other than that, and a finger print here and there, it is in superb condition.
