Denver, Colorado: Outdoor Life Books. Good with no dust jacket. 1905. First Edition. Hardcover. Green cloth boards with white imprint. Six pages of advertisements, including one for the author's Long's Peak Inn. Illustrations include a bird's-eye view with labels, altitude and mileage charts, and many black and white photographs of the scenery of the area. Tipped in is a folding map titled “Estes Park and Surrounding” from the notes of A. E. Sprague, another local hotelier and guide. Boards have light rubbing and wear with some of the white imprint worn off. Front endpaper has a ½ inch tear along the top edge and front pastedown has a tear from something previously glued to it. Spine is slightly shaken. Map is creased but otherwise in very good condition. Overall good condition. Enos A. Mills is known as The Father of Rocky Mountain National Park for his efforts to conserve the area. This rare first edition of his guide was published a decade before the establishment of the park. ; B&W Photographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 105 pp .
