New York: Harper & Brothers, 1899 A fairly tight book, sewn binding. Inscription on the ffep. frontispiece has protective tissue. , Gutter split after copyright page but would appear that this was a binding issue. Red cloth boards with bright gilt title on front and spine. Minor bleaching spots from a liquid on bottom of front and a little bumping to free corners.


Henry Van Dyke was a preacher, university professor, diplomat, poet, translator, and author of many inspirational writings.  His most famous work is The Story of the Other Wise Man , one of the best loved and most inspiring of all Christmas classics, celebrating its triumphant centennial in 1996.
