Story of the Wild West and Camp-Fire Chats, by Buffalo Bill, (Hon. W. F. Cody.) The title page reads, "A full and complete history of the renowned pioneer quartette, Boone, Crockett, Carson, and Buffalo Bill. Replete with graphic descriptions of the wild life and thrilling adventures by famous heroes of the frontier. A record of exciting events on the western borders pushed westward to the sea: massacres, desperate battles, extraordinary bravery, marvelous fortitude, astounding heroism, grand hunts, savage encounters, adventures by flood and field, rollicking anecdotes, tales of sorrow, droll stories, curious escapades, and a melange of incidents that make up the melodrama of civilization in its march over mountains and prairies to the pacific. Including a description of Buffalo Bill's conquests in England. With his wild west exhibition, where royalty from all the European nations paid him a generous homage and made his wonderful show the greatest success of modern times. Superbly illustrated with 250 original illustrations made especially for the book. Historical Publishing Co., Philadelphia."

The binding is a bit loose at the beginning and end of the book, along with the first few pages and last few pages being loose. Other than that, all other pages are intact and the book is in great shape for being 132 years old. There is a name written in pencil inside the front cover and also a drawing in pencil inside the back cover. **5% of this sale will go towards the fight against racial injustice.

[Texas] [San Antonio] Adina De Zavala. History and legends of the Alamo and other missions in and around San Antonio. San Antonio: Standard Printing Co. 1917. Tan pictorial wraps. 20 cm. Illustrated. 219 pp. Rear cover separated; front cover corner bends, else very good.
Adina De Zavala led the opposition to tearing down portions of the Alamo "in a resolute and voluble stand" and was instrumental in the preservation of portions of the original wall of the convent. In fact, she barricaded herself inside the north barrack of the Alamo for three days in February 1908 to protest its destruction. In 1912 she organized the Texas Historical and Landmarks Association, which placed thirty-eight markers at historic sites in Texas. She probably did more than any other one person in stirring interest in the preservation of the Spanish Governor's Palace in San Antonio. – Handbook of Texas. A tireless protector of Texas history, De Zavala is now honored with a marker in the patio of the convent at the Alamo
