A descriptive and informative short history and guide of the The Yellowstone region, written by journalist and Montana newspaper man, John H. Raftery (1865-1944). Contains a discussion on National Parks, Lewis and Clark, Colter's first visit, scientific exploration and military expeditions, protection of wildlife, and more. Uncommon in the trade and seemingly not to be found in any of the standard references. .
