London: T and J Allman, 1817. Book. Good. Hardback. Second Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. A good copy bound in contemporary half leather, but front board detached. vpp.+150pp+69pp, coloured frontispiece, many other chess illustrations and diagrams. Published anonymously. Unchanged from the 1st edition published in the same year, except the first edition had only 64 additional pages. Whilst this copy has the front board loose it is internally very good and worth a sympathetic repair..
