The Pulitizer-Prize winning author, Geoffrey Parsons (1879-1956) provides a history from the beginnings of the planet and early man through the first quarter of the Twentieth Century. Each volume runs approximately 330 through 370 pages and includes numerous illustrations in color, as well as black and white. Matching illustrated endpapers show the earth and its continents, major countries and oceans, as well as key moments in historical development. The books are bound in a deep blue-green cloth, with bright gilt vignette designs on the front panel and raised spines.
