About This Item

Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1926. First edition. Hardcover. Very near Fine/Good+. 8vo. [13], 2-365, [3] pp. Green cloth with gold lettering on the front board and spine. Price of $3.00 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Born and raised in Iowa, the author was a World War I veteran who traveled the world after his service. Norman Hall was the co-author of Mutiny on the Bounty. Here, he writes of his experiences in Iceland and the south Pacific, eventually choosing to settle in Tahiti. The American first edition with its jacket is uncommon in commerce, and scarce in collectible condition. A very near Fine book in a dust jacket with the reverse neatly reinforced, paper colored red-orange to supplement minor jacket loss, else a Very Good jacket.
