First Edition, First State in original lavender boards (changed for later printings), Pulitzer Prize-winning drama by one of America's greatest playwrights. The basis for the explosive 1951 film featuring Marlon Brando. Jacket spine faded, two large chips along top edge of rear panel, some other edge wear; volume with edge wear, short split at bottom of front spine edge, several tape residue on covers and endpapers, rear hinge cracked before rear free endpaper, small hole and surface damage to rear free endpaper (from removal of card pocket though no library stamps, etc.); a few leaves with short tears, ink number at bottom of 3rd leaf, a few other stray ink markings; Good to very good in like jacket.
