I chose to read this since it was set in Singapore and I lived there for many years. The setting and atmosphere are authentic and more important, integral to the story. I loved this book because the writer has created one of those rare, memorable characters in Paul Harris, so much so that as soon as I finished (and it's one of those books that's hard to put down) I bought all the other books in which he features. As a female, I wanted to meet a man like Paul - and the story is gripping with a nice twist at the end.
