About This Item
New York: Viking Press, 1941. First Thus. Hardcover. Very Good +. Light blue cloth-covered boards are decorated with maroon design and lettering. Boards are quite clean with just a hint of wear at corner tips. Front board has a very slightly darkened area the size of two quarters, and when book is held on an angle in the light there appear to be speckles, as if book was carried in a misting rain that caused tiny spots that removed the sheen. (Not as bad as it sounds! These are scarsely visable.) Spine edge has faded a bit. Previous owner's book plate is on inside of front board. Interior is clean and unmarked. Pages have yellowed a bit. Binding is solid. A sheet, probably from the jacket which is missing, is laid in and describes the book which was "Awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature." On copyright page, "This volume comprises the three French volumes entitled L'Ete 1914 (Part VII of Les Thibault) and a fourth volume entitled Epilogue (Part VIII),copyright 1936, 1940 by Librairie Gallimard, Paris." This book is translated by Stuart Gilbert.

Having the store has caused us to minimize our online presence. We are located at 330 Kalamazoo St. Suite 2, in South Haven, MI 49090. Order online, should you find a treasure in our small collection, check out our website, or stop in and see our in-store collection of over 40,000 books in beautiful South Haven, on the Black River and the shores of Lake Michigan.
