Half leather. Respined with original spine laid on. Bookplate for 'Frank Dodd' on front pastedown endpaper. Blindstamp to title page. Repair to corner of p. 161.
Author visits Hawaii and is clear about his incredible disappointment. His hotel is a "ghastly place". He can't find any shells to collect. And everyone is drunk. He does however tour a volcano which he finds "wondrous". Good for him. Finally something nice.
