THE MIRACLES OF NATURE, or the strange signs and prodigious aspects and appearances in the heavens, the earth, and the waters for many hundred years past, with an account of the most famous comets, and other prodigies, since the birth of our Blessed Saviour, and the dreadful effects of many of them: also a particular description of the five blazing stars seen in England, within eighteen years last past, and abundance of other unaccountable accidents and productions of all kinds, till 1682. II. THE MIRACLES OF ART, describing the most magnificent buildings, and other curious inventions in all ages, as Solomons temple, the seven wonders of the world, and many more excellent structures and rarities throughout the whole earth. Beautified with divers sculptures of many curiosities therein. By R.B. author of the Hist. of the wars of England; Remarks of London; Wonderful prodigies; Admirable curiosities in England; and Extraordinary adventures of several famous men. FIRST EDITION 1683. 12mo, approximately 145 x 85 mm, 5¾ x 3¼ inches, 6 engraved plates, pages: Title, To the Reader, 1-222, should be 232 as 10 numbers 155-164 have been repeated (not duplicated), rebound in quarter calf, red and black gilt lettered labels to spine, gilt rules to spine, marbled boards, old endpapers preserved. 2 plates have small repairs to blank side of outer edge with slight loss to image, light soiling and staining throughout, small hole in page 196 affecting a few letters, 2 tiny nicks repaired, not really noticeable, 1 plate has tip of corner missing, not affecting image, old ink name (William) to blank side of frontispiece, edges slightly stained and darkened, lacks 4 pages of adverts at end.
