First edition; octavo; [4],vii,[1],252pp, with full complement of 16 plates (that of Worcester Guildhall and folding plate of Worcester Cathedral with partial loss, the latter accompanied by loosely inserted complete example from another copy). Contemporary half calf over marbled boards (a little worn), sometime respined preserving original gilt-lettered black morocco title label, a number of early ink annotations and underlinings, additional nineteenth century illustration of Tewkesbury Abbey tipped in before leaf A, additional printed note on St Michael in Bedwardine, dated 1892, tipped in before leaf Gg, nineteenth century excerpts from Berrow's Worcester journal pasted to reverse of folding plan of Worcester and to final blanks, printed transcript of letter dated 1871 relating to the rebuilding of St Michael's Bedwardine tipped in to rear free endpaper. A clean copy of this early Worcester imprint and first dedicated account of the city as it stood in the eighteenth century, with fascinating additional nineteenth century material. ESTC T146687.
