Signed and inscribed by author Russell Banks to Doug and Penny Dutton the original owners of Dutton's Bookstores in Los Angeles, California. The novel was the basis for the feature film with the same name released in 1997, directed by Canadian film director Atom Egoyan and received two Oscar Nominations for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director. Modern First, signed association copy, rare collectible. 257 pgs. 8vo.

Synopsis

Russell Banks is the author of thirteen works of fiction. He has received numerous prizes and awards for his work, including the O. Henry and the Best American Short Story Awards, John Dos Passos Prize and the Literature Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He is the President of the International Parliament of Writers, following Wole Soyinka and Salman Rushdie. He lives in upstate New York.
