London: Collins Clear-Type Press. Very Good with no dust jacket. Hardcover. No publication date but endpage has a 1954 inscription, so publication would likely be circa late 1940's to early 1950's. Illustrated boards, no jacket as issued, very good condition for it's age. Author not listed but originally written by Johann David Wyss. Cover has light edgewear/edge rubbing, some paper loss at corners. Front cover is clean & bright, back has light scuffing/light soiling. Pages are all intact and clean other than gift inscription on first blank endpage, light age tanning to interior. Wyss's timeless classic about an industrious Swiss family that miraculously survives shipwreck and builds paradise on an island populated by an impossibly rich array of plants and animals. (520) ; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall .

Synopsis

The Swiss Family Robinson is a novel, first published in 1812, about a Swiss family who are shipwrecked in the East Indies en route to Port Jackson, Australia.
