Description: 1st edition. 8vo, orange/tan boards with pictorial paste-on (same as frontispiece), 398 pages, color frontispiece (same as cover paste-on), 6 b/w full-page plates by John Rae. Theodora Peck (1882 - 1964) was an American author and poet from Vermont, known mostly for her historical novels. There are 4 pages of ads and praise for her Hester of the Grants: A Romance of Old Bennington in the rear of the book. Condition: VERY GOOD / no jacket: spine is lightly sunned, light rubbing to extremities, slight spotting to paste-on, discoloring to rear board; owner bookplate on front pastedown.
